MINI Inspection I
Undercarriage: Perform oil service; check transmission for leaks; half-shafts: check for leaks at flexible joints; inspect front and rear axle half-shafts and check for leaks at flexible boots; visually check fuel tank, lines and connections for leaks; check condition, position and mounting of exhaust system and examine for leaks; check power steering system for leaks; check power steering fluid, add fluid if necessary; check and record overall thickness of front and rear outer brake pads; examine brake disc surfaces and clean brake pad contact points in calipers; lubricate wheel centering hubs; check thickness of parking rake linings if rear brake pads are replaced; check steering for absence of play, condition of suspension track rods, front axle joints, steering linkage and joint disc; check brake system connections and lines for leaks, damage and incorrect positioning; check parking brake actuation, adjust if necessary; check and record all tire pressures (including spare), correct if necessary; check condition of tires (outer surfaces, left/right) tread wear and pattern; in case of uneven tread wear, readjust wheel alignment if requested.
Engine Compartment: Read out diagnostic system; check engine cooling system/heater hose connections for leaks; check coolant level and antifreeze protection level; add coolant if necessary; record freezing point temperature; check level of brake fluid in reservoir, add fluid if required; check windshield washer fluid level and antifreeze protection, add fluid if necessary, and record freeze point temperature; check air conditioner operation; replace micro filter; reset service interval indicator.
Body/Electrical Equipment: Check battery and charge if required; check lighting system including all exterior and interior lights; check dashboard and instrument panel illumination; check all warning/indicator lights; check turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, horns and headlight dimmer switch; check wiper and washer system (wiper blades and washer jet positions); check condition and function of safety belts; check central locking/double lock; check operation of all latches; check heater/air conditioner blower fan, rear window defogger; check rearview mirrors; visually examine the SRS airbag unit for torn covers, obvious damage, or attachment of decals, decorations or accessories.
Final Inspection: Road test and check brakes, suspension, steering, clutch/manual or automatic transmission; add for CVT automatic transmissions; add coolant; add manual transmission fluid; brake fluid flush.
MINI Inspection II
MINI Inspection I plus: replace spark plugs; perform fuel injection flush; replace manual transmission fluid; replace front wiper blades; replace intake air element (reduce interval in dusty operating conditions); replace poly v-belt; undercarriage Inspection; check thickness of parking brake linings and record values; add coolant; brake fluid flush.
